Tarifa, located on the most southern tip of mainland Spain, is one of the best spots in Europe to ensure yourself wind for kitesurfing. Not only can you get a kitesurfing course in Tarifa, but you can do many other activities. 
20 years ago, Tarifa was a small fishing village that nearly nobody knew anything about.
Its place today as a windsurfing and kitesurfing Mecca started when the windsurfers found out just how often the wind blew here.
Tarifa is today one of the most visited places in Europe to learn or to practice kitesurfing and windsurfing. It also holds at least one of the PKR championships every year.
All summer long, the wind blows, either Poniente (onshore) or Levante(offshore), and winter in Tarifa is so unlike winter in the rest of Europe. It's still warm!!!
Being so far south, the weather is warm, even in winter – with sunshine days all year round. It is very uncommon to have more than one day with clouds and/or rain. Tarifa has over 300 sunshine days a YEAR!

The most lazy activity you can do is probably “laying on the beach” or chilling out in a chiringuito on the beach, drinking a cold beverage and enjoying the sunshine, salt and sea, while watching the kitesurfers jump around like jack rabbits. Not a bad thing to do in Tarifa – but Tarifa also offers a wide range of choices, from kitesurfing courses, to horse riding, to mountain biking.You choose how much energy you want to use. 
Kitesurfing Spots around TarifaThere are many spots to kitesurf in Tarifa. During the winter, you can kite anywhere on the beaches without restriction. This allows for some great down wind sessions – and the ability to take a kite lesson anywhere that is suited to the conditions on that day. In the summer, the local council divides the beaches in “zones” for sun bathing, kite surfing, and kite surfing schools.
This ensures that even in the summer, when there can sometimes be hundreds of kites in the air, you can still be taught in areas designated for kitesurfing courses.
